You could have started the above question by first dividing in Cartesian form by multiplying above and below by the conjugate of the denominator and then converting your answer into Polar form. 

The video (right) which is a solution to the question asked on the Christmas exam, outlines many of the skills and knowledge required in this area.

Sir would you please be able to explain the reason why in chapter 3.7 why the argument is taken from pie or -pie. What is the rule for each quadrant?
